Greetings in Tourism EXPO!
Korea Tourism Organization and worldwide attention.
There are many interesting events and festivals hold usually in autumn season. On September 25 – 26 were held ‘Toursim EXPO’ (Big Sight, Tokyo) exhibition, so I had a chance to visit it and take a bit more closer look at Korean booth.
What is TOURISM EXPO?
This is World class tourism related early event, that taking place on the last week Saturday every September. Now Tourism EXPO is known as not only overseas event, but as large scale event, as it organized in more than 47 cities in Japan.
This year Korean booth was one of the biggest among Asia’s representatives. Starting from Seoul city, every district and province prepared material and different present for the exhibition visitors. In order to increase interest of participants in Korean culture and life style, exhibitors prepared various activities, such as Korea’s traditional costume (Hanbok) experience, cooking, Korean cultural or travel events, Korean cooking and cosmetic product talk show, K-pop shows and others.
In other words, every participant of the event could join and experienced Korean culture, satisfying its curiosity in Korea just though participating in the exhibition.
‘Amore Pacific’ brand 「呂」 special gift event.
Starting from Seoul capital, then Daegu city, Incheon city, Kyongee province, Jeju island etc., I was participating over every booth, by taking pictures, gatting all possible coupons, so in the end you could exchange all those in the main booth to get「呂 brand shampoo set」, in other words there was no booth that didn’t give anything.
Character「呂」in Korea sounds like「Ryo」in Korean、and in Japanese 「ロ」, that is more familiar to me. Korea’s best cosmetic company Amore Pacific is Korea Oriental hair care brand and it is known as best quality Korean medicine herbal cosmetics brand in Korea.
Amore Pacific gift set, contains Koryo ginseng together with herbs of Korean medicine in order to provide professional care to prevent hair loss symptoms.
Amore Pacific gift set contains full combination of product for hare care (shampoo, conditioner and hair pack), so I was very satisfied with the organization and level of preparation, as it took some effort for me to go through all the booths to get all coupons. What I can add for information. ‘Ryo’ brand is also widely recognized and popular in Korea.
South Korea’s active promotion of Medical Tourism.
Korean booth was popular among the visitors of exhibition not only though variety of goods and tour programs, but through Korea’s Medical tourism. Korea’s Medical tourism were represented by ‘Seoul Healthcare Center Organization’, ‘LEE MOON WON Korean Medicine clinic’, ‘Arimdaun Nara Dermatology’ and ‘Forever Dermatology clinic’.
‘Korea Medical Tourism organization’ was formed by Korean government in 2009 and represents activity of its officials. For the present state, residents of Russia, China, Mongolia, Vietnam, USA, Japan and other countries are now visiting Korea for the Medical tourism over 100,000 people early.
In TOURISM EXPO from Korea were participated representatives from Seoul, each province and other overseas Medical Tourism represented organizations.
There is some stereotype among people, when they hear about MedicalTourism in Korea in an image of plastic surgery beauty. However in the expo there were nothing of it. Korean females visiting clinics the same way as they are going to the regular beauty shop. So in other words, in Korea, receiving treatment at dermatology hospital is the same as going to ‘este’ (beauty shop in Japan). So during the expo there were introduced famous dermatological clinics, organized skin condition check-up and provided information about variety of skin care programs, that were very popular among female visitors, who showed high interest in beauty field.
One of the representative clinic of Korean Oriental Medicine, participated in the exhibition were LEE MOON WON Korean Medicine clinic, that specializes in hair loss and troubled scalp treatment. Especially for the event, main doctor of the clinic, Dr.Lee Moon Won were also participating in the event together with his team, including Japanese interpreter. Dr. Lee Moon Won provided free personal examination and diagnosis to his visitors, who’ve complete reservation long before the date of the event. Uniqueness of the LEE MOON WON clinic’s service is clinic’s peculiarity even among clinics in Seoul, that made it more special seeing it in Japan.

「Tourism EXPO」(2016 , September 24~25.
It is 1 year left till the expo, but I strongly recommend everyone to mark it in your schedule as it is ‘worth to go’ event.
